Happy Weekend

We received these Harry & David pears from our Realtor {so nice!} And though I haven't eaten them I have taken about 30 photos of them ;) And see those hydrangea? They've been in many a photo of mine lately. I bought them like two weeks ago from Trader Joes and they're still going strong. I may have to go get a couple more bundles this weekend.

Ever since Deb and I had those Pear Flower Martini's* at Twennty/20 I've been dreaming about what other deliciousness can be made with pears...so I googled it:

Hazelnut Roasted Pears from where else? PearRecipes.net

Simply Recipes shows us how to make Pear Butter. Yummmm

How about a Spicy Green Salad with Manchego & Pears from Gourmet? They also have Guacamole with Pear & Pomegranate seeds. Now that's right up my alley...

What are you up to this weekend? Do you have a long weekend like us? Lots of my friends are headed to the snow but I'm happy to stay here and enjoy the 70+ weather we're expecting. It's about time! Hopefully we'll get some more house stuff done and I can share it with you next week.

Cheers~

*Pear Flower Martini includes: Hangar 1 Spiced Pear Vodka | St. Germaine Elderflower Liquor | Champagne

...I adore pears! There's just something about their shape, the way they smell and how they feel when you hold them in your hand! One of the things on my "bucket list" is to vist a working farm where they make pear brandy. The only way they can get the pear in the bottle, is to grow them in!! Could you imagine a chandeliered pear tree?!! Check the brandy out here:
