Explore San Diego: Little Italy

Deb and I decided it was time to explore our city. I've lived in San Diego for 5 years now and while I do know my way around (for the most part) I can't tell you the best coffee shop in Hillcrest or the trendiest boutique in La Jolla.

So now we're on a mission to get outside and Explore San Diego. As often as we can, we plan to wine, dine and shop our way through the different neighborhoods in San Diego.

Our first stop was the colorful Little Italy. Full of (you guessed it) lots of Italian restaurants. Little Italy also has plenty of cafes, boutique shops and a Farmers Market on the weekends. (Well at least on this weekend)

Deb and I cruised the market, sniffed the flowers, tasted the salt, pesto, bread and more all while basking in the sun. It was such a beautiful day and we couldn't get over how lucky we are to live in such an amazing place.

You can't beat walking around in shorts and flip flops while the rest of the country is shoveling snow.

The flowers at the Farmers Market were incredible! Amazing colors. And the smells! I bought a bunch of tuberose and was stopped every few minutes by other market goers who wanted to smell them.

We made our way to a couple of over-priced boutiques before we stumbled across For Joseph (We almost didn't go in! HUGE mistake) The clothes were great and the prices even greater. I ended up with a new cardigan and some accessories, while Deb escaped with a couple of tops.

Next to For Joseph was a flower shop in this little alley - unfortunately I didn't catch the name. The shop was darling and the brightly painted buildings made for a perfect backdrop to display the flowers and unique plants.

OK - I'm off to edit more shots from the day...Enjoy the rest of your weekend!
