small business saturday

being a small business owner myself I was thrilled to learn about small business saturday this year. (was it new this year or have I been living under a rock?) anyway - the saturday after thanksgiving - my fam and I happily ventured out to visit (and support!) some of our fave local small businesses. I picked up these goodies from kyss boutique. the bag was handmade in bali and the necklace from a local designer. love! did you participate in small business saturday?

I've been looking for the perfect fabric to recover some pillows I have around the house but all the fabrics I came across were just wrong.  good fabrics are too expensive.  (and I'm not good enough at sewing to risk messing up some fancy fabric) stylish pillows are (in my opinion) way over priced...so imagine my delight while in H&M the other day and I came across this gem.  it was exactly what I had in mind.  and only $24.95! I was able to make three (yes THREE!) pillows from the material and they are so soft and cozy.  and unique.  of course I may have to go back and by another poncho to keep and wear for myself...

ever since taryn told me about the "catalogs" app - my ipad and I have been obsessed. you can browse hundreds of catalogs from many retailers (and I only assume the list will continue to grow), shop directly from the app, bookmark your faves and even make cute little collages. I put these together last night

{ Ease } Back into the Work Week

Getting up for work this morning would have been much easier if I could slip into one of these gorgeous pieces while getting myself ready for the day.

It's no secret that I love Anthropologie. Sometimes I step into the stores with no intention of buying anything - just to simply soak up all the creativity and eye candy. Of course while my intentions are good my willpower is not.

An easier and cheaper way to absorb all that inspiration is through their catalog which is always a treat to find in my mailbox. And I was beyond delighted with the theme of the latest catalog.

Around the { House }

Ever since Hawaii I've been a little off on my 365. I haven't missed a day (I don't think) Just haven't been very good about posting them...and worse - I haven't been keeping up with my themes. My baby {MacBook} is in the shop {Apple Store} and I really don't know what to do with myself. My 365 is suffering - I'm still taking photos but I have a lot of catch up posting to do. I have MASSIVE amounts of photos to edit and we're trying to save money so we can buy a house someday in the not too distant future.
So what am I'm doing? Online window shopping. AKA torturing myself.

A really sweet frilly dress paired with a dark leather jacket

A giant bag to hold my camera, sunglasses, keys, cell phone (if I didn't leave it at home), book, other camera, wallet, more keys, lip gloss, journal/notebook/idea keeper, chap stick....



A really comfy tee & high waisted mini skirt. And a clutch for when I don't want to lug around a giant bag.



Long dresses are my weakness. I honestly think they're perfect for every summer occasion.



A chunky necklace and a girly ribbon.


A healthy laptop so my life can go back to normal. I'm pathetic, huh?
