She of course said she meant it as a compliment but I would never, ever describe myself as prissy. I think its an awful word used to describe someone who is uptight and snobby. I let her continue and she said "you're always so put together." I almost choked again as I usually feel like I'm thrown together. But thank you co-worker, for the nice compliment....I think.
Even though I think I'm far from being prissy...I do have a girlie streak in me...so I give you some of the girliest flickr faves I could find. Click away my fellow prissys!
Though I do love feminine, pretty things - I've always thought of myself as a tomboy on the inside. A sports fanatic who would rather spend hours watching the game and hanging with the boys than out shopping and gossiping with the girls.
So with that all said - how would you describe yourself? Do you think others perceive you in the same way? Or do they see you as someone completely different than you see yourself? Do you even care what other people think?

I am going to back you on this one. "Prissy", well you are not and for someone like me, which is someone like you prissy is not usually a "nice" way to describe someone. Just because you like clothes, bold prints and colors, even florals, carry cute handbags and LOVE shoes does not mean you are PRISSY. Especially since you are one of the only other girls that I know who knows how to read a basketball bracket, and can clearly define what pass interference is? Screw her! Oh, love your prissy flickr favs! :)
Amen Lish! Thanks girl
Hm. Interesting... I would agree with you and alicia.. it's not a great word, but i think she meant it as a compliment :) i love your pics :)
Anytime... I got your back ;)
Another fantastic collection. I love the first image 'keep calm and have a cupcake!'
I don't think I can live knowing someone doesn't like me haha. I have always played along with the boys all my life and I love watching soccer as well :) I think having a little bit of both - a male and female activities in your routine can open you up. Girls that can only talk about hairstyles and nail polish are just not my type of people, and I really wonder what they talk with guys about..
On the other hand girls should be girls. There's nothing worse than a woman who is not feminine at all. I think watching sports with the guys and wearing cute dresses at the same time makes you pretty much the perfect woman :)
hmmm...I definitely agree with your interpretation of the word "prissy" - if she wanted to give you a compliment bc you always look put-together and organized she just should have said that:) "Prissy" sounds negative to me and I definitely think that based on your lovely blog, you are not prissy. I love girlie things like you too...but I also love gritty and urban and for lack of a better word, ugly things! lol
have a great weekend! I love these photos you've chosen here...
Love all these flickr favs! The pink gets me everytime. Prissy is definitely NOT the word I would use to describe you...you are definitely more sporty and down to earth. I would say I am a girly girl. Love wearing dresses, shopping, gossiping and pool time! Miss you!
hmm... i think she's jealous of you! haha
prissy is so not a good word to compliment someone... and you are so not prissy!
great pics!the lens baby looks like fun! :)
Prissy? Ummmm. no!
Any girl who breaks her foot skateboarding should never be put in that category. :)
Great pics!
I don't think you are prissy at all. I'd say you're laid back and sporty. I think of prissy girls as girls who love pink and I don't think I've ever seen you wear pink.
Well, I just wanted to say that this is a beautiful collection! And I don't know you personally, but I'm sure your not prissy. She probably wasn't trying to be mean, but to call someone prissy is a bit rude in my opinion. And I don't know about you, but I'm tired of rude comments. (I've had a few made to me lately too.)
Anyways, have a good day!
yay...my photo again...so honored...I can't even tell you...I gues I just did! xo t
