Here's to the long weekend....full of laying on the couch and watching football and hopefully a little beach time.

Rich's 33rd(!) birthday is on Sunday and I'm taking him to the races. I think he should bet $33 on horse 3 in the 3rd race. I'll let you know how it goes.

Flowers by Annette Gomez

On Tuesday I took a much needed personal day to focus on getting some wedding stuff out of the way. Deb and I met with my florist, Annette of Flowers by Annette Gomez.

Not only is she a total doll, but she totally gets me and I couldn't ask for more from a wedding florist. Oh and the best part? She's absolutely amazing when it comes to floral arrangements.



These are some shots I took of the sample centerpiece she made for me. They're filled with tons of brightly colored flowers of all types: proteas, hydrangeas, orchids, roses, dahlias and even billy balls! And my favorite part is the whole and sliced lemons and limes. I can't wait to see how they look at the reception! Thanks Annette!

A Day On The Lake

On Saturday Rich an I had a few hours to kill before the wedding so we hiked down to Whale Beach and had a little picnic on the rocks.



Rich was able to get in a little rock top yoga...

Tahoe Forever

We had the best weekend ever!! I want to move to Tahoe immediately. I'm still going through the 650 photos we took at the wedding, the lake and the airport. (Yes, Airport. Rich and I can't seem to get enough of airports these days.)

Sneak Peek....

My wedding dress is here! Finally! She currently lives at my future sis-in-law's house and I've already been over to visit her once. I had to try her on with my shoes to see how much hemming is required for my future mom-in-law :) So here is an itty bitty little sneak peak of her. I'll post more sneak peeks in the near future...mainly when I run out of things to blog about.

Bloggers Block

I'm in a blogging funk...not sure what to write about, not sure what to photograph...I'm in a slump. Any ideas? Requests? Suggestions? I leave you to ponder...Have a great weekend!

Photoshoot

On Sunday Taryn and I had our first 'girls only' photo shoot. Well her boyfriend came along as our "assistant" and good thing he did because it turned out to be a pretty sketchy location. It was an old, abandoned dairy farm out by Pala (an Indian reservation) complete with broken out or boarded up windows and a plethora of hypodermic needles.

At one point a cop pulled up to inform us we were trespassing, and though he said we could stay, he shared with us that shady characters were known to lurk around the area and they had even recently discovered a body there!




That was all we needed to hear, we snapped a few more shots and were on our way. Next time we'll choose a slightly less creepy location. Disneyland?

Inspiration Board: Vintage Glamour

So Cassie over at Coco + Kelley is getting married....sorta. Actually she's just holding a little contest in which you have to take a room and create a wedding inspiration board based on the style of that room.

I've seen these inspiration boards around and never done one myself so I thought I'd give it a shot. I call mine: Vintage Glamour




The funny part about this board is that it looks nothing like my wedding...but that's what I like about it. See I'm not all sour lemon all the time :)

I Heart Homemade

Before I get into this post - I just want to take a poll on something that has been on my mind for a little while now. The < greater than (or is it less than?) plus the 3 = <3 (a heart). Example: I <3 NY. Now my girlfriends and I are the QUEENS of internet slang (YKYFW, LAS, LAB, LOL, NTBCW etc) but <3 is not one that comes up in our daily email conversations. I'm not so sure how I feel about it. So what do you think? Do you <3 the <3? Or is it just too much?



Ok back to things I really do "heart." Clutches...especially homemade ones...especially homemade ones from Etsy. It's no surprise that I love Etsy; as I sell both my cards and photos there...but I also do love to shop there! Not too long ago I bought this darling clutch from sidelica.




Its the perfect clutch for spring/summer displaying a pretty spread of garden flowers in yellow and green with a gorgeous extra large button closure. It's pretty and vintagey with a little added black to give it attitude.

A Very Special Music Tuesday

The Walkmen are 5 New Yorkers who have been playing rock music since they were 10 years old. Over the years, and in their many ensembles, they’ve experimented with punk, noise, a lot of “garage” sounds, ska, and rock. Oh and they're awesome. Not just because their music rocks but also because they're generous and caring individuals - something that is becoming more and more rare in the music industry.
